About Us

South Metro SCORE is part of the national nonprofit SCORE Association dedicated to entrepreneurial education and the formation, growth and success of the nation's small businesses. Our public service mission is to provide business counseling to help entrepreneurs and small businesses evaluate and prepare plans, stabilize, grow, innovate and succeed. SCORE volunteers serve as ''Counselors to America's Small Business.''

South Metro SCORE provides free and confidential business counseling tailored to meet the needs of small businesses in the metro area south of the Minnesota River, and communities further south such as Jordan, New Prague, and Northfield. We also offer, free or for a modest fee, business seminars for both start-up entrepreneurs and established small business owners.

The men and women of South Metro SCORE are real-world professionals with time-tested knowledge who donate thousands of hours to help small businesses succeed. Our volunteers hail from every facet of the business community. Some have worked at large corporations. Others have spent years cultivating their own small business. Our counselors are experts in such areas as accounting, finance, marketing, real estate, business acquisition and sale, management and business plan preparation.

Small business ownership makes entrepreneurial dreams a reality; transforms individual lives; builds financial wealth; shapes futures; increases commerce in our communities; and is the engine behind the health and growth of the nation's economy.
