At Lions United Fitness Center, we believe in the power of inclusion. We are Minnesota’s first inclusive coaching facility, designed to enhance the lives of individuals of all abilities. When you hear terms like Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder or TBI, you might think “disability.” But at Lions United, Coach Andy sees these as strengths. He teaches his lions how to use these strengths to empower themselves and be the best version of themselves. It’s not just about becoming more fit or bettering an athlete’s skills for a Special Olympics sport. It’s about so much more than that. Coach Andy believes that aside from improving your athletic skills, it’s just as important to develop positive character traits. Some of the virtues he instills in his Lions are grit, determination, leadership, following directions, sportsmanship, and gratitude. He also builds confidence and courage in his athletes. He wants you to not just evolve as an athlete but as a person. It takes courage to develop yourself, and Coach Andy wants to help you along that journey. Courage is a result of confidence, and Coach Andy is a living example of what human potential can achieve. So, if you have the desire and the courage to walk down that path, there’s no telling how far you can go.
