Farmington Breakfast

The Farmington Area Business Council meets on a monthly basis to discuss business happenings around Farmington, get updates from City Staff, and look ant any local policies that affect business. The Farmington ABC meetings also usually have a guest speaker on a topic relavent to Farmington business and the community. The regular meeting time is 8:00-9:00 am usually at the Celts Pub of Farmington. Annual events, such as the State of the City address and the holiday luncheon are scheduled for March and December, respectively.

Economic Growth Committee

FABC Strategic Goal: A joint resolution between DCR and City Council of Farmington to form an advisory body to the City Council to address development and redevelopment issues, creating public/private sector partnership for the economic growth effort of the city and area.

Economic development and redevelopment is a high priority and an important function for the economic well being of Farmington. It is important to work cooperatively with City Council and city staff developing a public/private sector partnership for the economic growth effort of the City. The Economic Growth Committee would be a resource in assisting the City Council and city staff in addressing various economic growth issues and would be involved in the strategic planning process as it relates to economic development and redevelopment.

Strategic Key Points

  • Receive input from and provide recommendations to the City Council
  • Act as a sounding board for development and redevelopment projects
  • Assist in strategic planning and marketing for the City of Farmington
  • Serve as a working committee with the ability to form task forces and special committees to accomplish goals and objectives
  • Take pulse of the community with regard to image and retention of businesses

Partnership with CEEF

FABC Strategic Goal: Support and foster the townships relationship within the business community to address civic and civil matters pertaining to the needs of the communities.

Meet with CEEF representatives on a continuing basis to discuss needs and concerns in government relations. Expand partnership in community activities and identify opportunities for further collaboration in events.

Membership - Recruitment & Retention

FABC Strategic Goal: Foster existing business and entrepreneurial growth in our business community.

Active participation by 50 percent of FABC members, including events and involved members in communittees; research and gather facts about what the members want in regards to economic development, redevelopment and the chamber.
